Sweet Mint and Rain

Image
The sweet mint and rain cocktail is inspired by this Bath and Body Works fragrance : About the fragrance I purchased this fragrance as a gentle foaming hand soap in 2022 because it had good reviews and I liked the scent description. I don't remember if I had ever purchased it before because I do not keep track of which hand soap fragrances I have purchased the way I keep track of bath and body care products. The scent is currently available online as a gentle foaming hand soap. The scent notes listed for this fragrance are: Watery bamboo Juicy melon Fresh mint leaves Designing the cocktail I used club soda for the mixer to account for the watery note. Bamboo shoots are edible, but I wasn't sure how to incorporate them into a cocktail, so I left them out. I used watermelon vodka and cantaloupe simple syrup for the melon note. The cantaloupe simple syrup was made by boiling a mixture of 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup sugar, adding 1 cup diced cantaloupe, and simmering for several min...

Cashmere Glow

Image
The cashmere glow cocktail is inspired by this Bath and Body Works fragrance : About the fragrance I first purchased this fragrance as a body cream in 2016 after trying it on in the store. I liked it, but it was retired the following year so I could no longer purchase it in stores, although it was still available online. I ordered the fragrance mist pictured online in 2021. It is currently available online as a body lotion, body cream, and fragrance mist. The scent notes listed for this fragrance are: Golden peach Lily petals Shimmering vanilla Cashmere musk Designing the cocktail I used peach flavored sparkling water for the mixer. Peach soda would work as well. I used lily petals (some varieties are edible) from the Etsy shop Herbal Mansion . For the vanilla note, I used vanilla vodka and added vanilla simple syrup for sweetness and additional flavor. I used white rum for the musk note. Recipe 1 oz vanilla vodka 1 oz white rum 1 oz vanilla simple syrup 6 oz peach sparkli...

Coconut Lime Breeze

Image
The coconut lime breeze cocktail is inspired by this Bath and Body Works fragrance: About the fragrance I first purchased this fragrance as a shower gel in 2013 after trying on the body lotion in the store. I liked it, but I did not purchase the scent again until 2021, when I ordered the body lotion pictured. It is currently unavailable online. The scent notes listed for this fragrance are: Sheer coconut water White orange blossom Zesty lime Jasmine petals Island musk Designing the cocktail I used Simple Truth Organic brand coconut water as the mixer. For the orange blossom note, I used Grand Marnier. I also added orange simple syrup for sweetness and a more intense flavor. For the lime note, I used a combination of lime vodka and lime juice. I used white rum for the musk note, but added less rum than the other alcoholic ingredients since musk is the last note listed. For the jasmine note, I used dried jasmine purchased at a local health food store. Recipe 1 oz Grand Marnier or ...

Magic in the Air

Image
The magic in the air cocktail is inspired by this Bath and Body Works fragrance: About the fragrance I first purchased this fragrance as a body cream in 2016 after trying it on in the store. I liked it, so I eventually purchased the fragrance mist as well. It is currently unavailable online, but it will hopefully be back during the holiday season. The scent notes listed for this fragrance are: Almond flower Sparkling persimmon White iris Whipped vanilla bourbon Fluffy sandalwood Designing the cocktail I used club soda as the mixer to capture the sparkling essence. I used amaretto for the almond note. I also added almond simple syrup for a more intense flavor and additional sweetness. I could not find persimmons or anything persimmon flavored at the grocery store, so I substituted the plum simple syrup I used for my Dark Kiss cocktail. Irises are not edible, so I couldn't include that note. I used Jim Beam brand vanilla bourbon. I didn't know how to approximate a sandalwood no...

Dark Kiss

Image
The dark kiss cocktail is inspired by this Bath and Body Works fragrance : About the fragrance I first purchased this fragrance as a shower gel in 2020. I ordered it online based on a review that said it was similar to Pink Chiffon, which I liked. It is currently available online as a body lotion, body cream, and fragrance mist. The scent notes listed for this fragrance are: Black raspberry Burgundy rose Bergamot incense Dark vanilla bean Plum musk Designing the cocktail I used black raspberry flavored Sparkling Ice sparkling water as the mixer. Any raspberry flavored soda or sparkling water would work. I used the same rose petals I used for my Winter Candy Apple cocktail. The bergamot note was trickier to capture at first. Since bergamot is largely associated with Earl Grey tea, I decided to make a small recipe of Earl Grey iced tea concentrate by boiling 1/2 cup water, steeping one Earl Grey tea bag for 10 minutes, adding 1/4 cup sugar, and boiling again until the sugar dissol...
