Midnight Blue Citrus
The midnight blue citrus cocktail is inspired by this Bath and Body Works fragrance:
About the fragrance
I purchased this wallflower fragrance plugin in 2022. It was the first time I had purchased a product in this fragrance. It is currently available online as a 3-wick candle, signature single wick candle, and mason single wick candle, but not as a wallflower fragrance plugin.
The scent notes listed for this fragrance are:
Juicy citrus
Fresh spring water
Sweet mango
Designing the cocktail
I used club soda as the mixer to capture the spring water note. For the citrus note, I used blue Curacao to match the fragrance name. I also added lemon vodka and lime vodka to round out the citrus note. For the mango note, I made a mango syrup following this recipe from Veggie Desserts.
Recipe
1 oz blue Curacao
½ oz lemon vodka
½ oz lime vodka
1 oz mango syrup
6 oz club soda
Place two ice cubes in a glass.
Add blue Curacao, lemon vodka, lime vodka, and mango syrup. Pour in club soda. For a non-alcoholic version, omit the blue Curacao, lemon vodka, and lime vodka. Add orange simple syrup, lemon simple syrup, and lime simple syrup. Add blue food coloring to recreate the color if you wish.
The finished cocktail
I enjoyed this cocktail. Blue Curacao was the strongest flavor. The other citrus flavors were hard to detect. The mango syrup blended well with the citrus flavors and brought additional texture to the drink. When combined, blue Curacao and mango syrup made the drink a teal color, so Midnight Teal Citrus may be a better name for this cocktail. I would recommend this cocktail to anyone who likes citrus flavors.
